Punjabi By Nature - White field

Punjabi By Nature
Punjabi By Nature - White field, one of the latest restaurant in Bangalore (Karnataka, India).

We wanted to visit this latest place. One of my close friend (Basu) and I planned to catch up at this latest restaurant in White field road on Friday, 7th March, 2014 at 1 pm.

Unless it is a great food I will never rate them 5 out of 5. Unfortunately or fortunately I am visiting this new restaurant with another friend of mine who is also a Critic By Nature. So let’s get started on our experience at Punjabi By Nature.

Restaurant Cusine: North Indian

Non food experience

Parking
The restaurant is on the White field road and there is no place to park. Luckily they have valet parking. The valet parking chauffeur gave us a hint that without reservation we might have to wait for at least 30 minutes
We decided to get into the restaurant and give it a try.

Restaurant Entry
The restaurant is on the main road and they have covered it well with boundary wall and fountains. We approached the person who reserves the table he asked us to wait for 30 minutes. Well, this is not at all a frustration as guests with reservations were also waiting. So we did not mind waiting.

Wheel chair access
No, this is disappointing.

Waiting area
There were two chairs and we quickly grabbed them and waited for our turn. The restaurant could have made a waiting lounge. Most of the guests were standing out and it was crowded at the entry of restaurant.

Seating Experience
The restaurant waiter approached us and you guessed it right, we got a seat for two in about 20 minutes. We were seated at the restaurant. We opted for the buffet and went straight to the food counter.

While we returned to our seat with our plates full of Aloo chaat, Pasta, Dahi vada, Salads and Pani Puri for starters we found someone already has occupied our seat. The waiter took us to another seating location.

Food experience
While the appetizers can't tantalize the taste buds, we headed towards the main course. We had Palak Paneer (with missing panner), Aloo gobhi, Paneer tikka (very spicy/hot), Rice.

The breads were not served on the table and were piled up on one of the hot case with other array of food servings. This kind of serving reduces your chances of getting hot and soft bread.

The main course was not at all impressive and our last hope was dessert. We expected the dessert to have lot of fancy cakes, jellies but they had very limited options including Jalabi and Ice cream.

Another thing to notice is that they serve free beer/soft drink with a buffet lunch

Cost
We paid 1,009 Rs including taxes. We did not find it worth the cost. And it was another ordinary restaurant for us.

Restaurant Exit
No one greeted us while our way out.  May be because we did not tip any one. Poor service on a Friday lunch.

Valet service was good, we got our car quickly and headed to our office.

Time spent in the restaurant
1.5 hrs

The good experience
We managed to get seat for two (2) in 20 minutes without prior reservation.

The bad experience
Our dining table was occupied by some other guests while we returned from food counter

My Recommendation
Try another restaurant if you have an option. It is just another ordinary restaurant.
