The Punjabi Rasoi - HSR, Bangalore

It is just a coincidence that I visit most of the north Indian restaurant from the time I've started sharing my thoughts about the restaurants. This review is a take away review. It was Friday, 8 pm.

Restaurant Cuisine: North Indian

Nonfood experience

Parking
The restaurant do not have designated parking space but parking can be easily identified across the road.

Restaurant Entry
The restaurant is on the main road. The floor was dusty and plants were coated with thin line of dust.

Wheel chair access
No, this is disappointing.

Waiting area
Entrance of the restaurant has chairs lined-up, a waiting guest can take rest. In normal conditions even in a highly priced restaurant you might have to stand in waiting lounge.

Order experience
As I approached the reception, the guy at restaurant welcomed me by nodding the head. A smile would have been great.
He quickly guessed – Mine was a takeaway order and he handed over the menu card.

When I try a new restaurant, I preferably order standard north Indian cuisine. Can you make a quick guess?
I ordered Butter Paneer Masala (cottage cheese) and Tandoori roti (Indian bread) along with steam rice.

Waiting experience
Waiting alone at the restaurant was quite boarding, so I went out to explore and had pani puri (at a tuck shop just next to this restaurant)

I asked the guy to make it spicy and he served me sour. So the experience was not good.
I turned around and took couple of pictures from my phone and headed back to the restaurant to check the status of my food arrival.

My food arrived in 20 mins. It was a decent time.

Restaurant Exit
The restaurant handed over the food in a plastic carry bag and the food was rapped with low quality silver foil. No smile on the face as they are too busy serving customers

Food experience
The food remained hot till I arrived home and we were ready for our dinner.
As expected the paneer butter masala was in red thick gravy.
I expect north indian restaurants to serve soft panner cubes. But that is not the case with most of the restaurant.

The steam rice has long grains but it aroma and taste of basmati was missing.

This is one among most of the average restaurants in Bangalore. I would recommend you to go explore this restaurant and rate yourself.

Cost
I paid 450 Rs (approx.) including taxes.

Time spent in the restaurant
20 mins

The good experience
The food parcel had enough salad for two people. The green chutney in the food packet was a surprise.

The bad experience
Hygiene, Cleanliness

My Recommendation
No - For Hygiene
